The Kuapa Kokoo community in Ghana has grown considerably since it began back in 1993.
Nicholas Adjei-Gyan explains how The Co-operative/ Fairtrade relationship has helped the community, which now consists of 1,200 societies comprising of about 45,000 farmers all over the cocoa growing regions. There is a range of training available including gender-empowerment programmes, sustainability education and financial planning and bonus schemes.
