Nicholas Adjei-Gyan describes some of the social improvements gained through Fairtrade.
Nicholas Adjei-Gyan’s role as Head of Research and Development at Kuapa Kokoo, is to train the farmers, educate them, and make sure they comply with Fairtrade standards. Through improving the farmers’ reliability and efficiency, the whole community can benefit. Kuapa Kokoo have invested in many social facilities such as clean water, schools, day-care centres, mobile clinics and further income-generating projects to help the farmers make ends meet between cocoa harvests.
